A Special Search Poem by Lloyd Savage

A Special Search

I went looking for a special rhyme
A perfect set of words,
With which to bless, all of mankind;
The best mans ever heard.

Yet, would I ever find such words
Such a beauty of the written art,
That flows from within, a poet's pen
And touches each reader's heart?

I knew not where my task would end
Nor where it may somehow take me;
I only knew 'tis felt within
What words could not forsake me.

And then today I found the rhyme
Which I've been searching for;
It was heard within the beating time
Of each loving mother's heart!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I penned this poem for Mothers who would like to receive this on Mother's day (the holiday.) These words came to me at one sitting and like Fanny J. Crosby one of my favorite poets said in her own autobiography these are the best kind of poems and songs when every word comes to you at once.
