A Story To Tell Poem by Verilyn Titus

A Story To Tell

Don't put my words away to hide from yourself...
Take them out and read the message as I sit upon this shelf...
That you put me and others on along time ago...
Scared to death of the truth enough to keep us out of the know...
As to why we always get boxed in the midst of your denial...
When it was out of our control all the while...
But now we are old enough to come together and take a stand...
And though I reach out I have yet to find your hand...
Because even with the embarrassment secrets can bring...
There is a sense of forgiveness in being able to begin healing...
So, join me and free yourself as well...
For everybody has a 'story to tell'.
