A Strange Light Poem by Kenneth R Jenkins

A Strange Light

Clouds gather together
Like a congregation gathers
Bunched together like it's one.
Then soon rumbling
In the skies like it's warming us
Or telling us to cease all things
And let the Lord do His mighty work.
Now here comes the flash
Flash of light
Streaking across the skies
Like a runner
Running fast.

The winds make the trees bow
The seas roll
And then suddenly
All is quiet- -
With the rain stop
The winds are calm now
The flash of light rest
And now there's calm.

A strange light
From the horizon
Peaks out where seas meet the skies
And finally
A rainbow with it's colors of bright
Reminding us of God's grace and mercy.
