A Struggling ‘ship' At Sea! Poem by Dr John Celes

A Struggling ‘ship' At Sea!

We had done well all through these years,
But now we are in almost tears,
As we cannot become all seers,
And have our doubts and genuine fears!

We need your help and seamanship;
We need your expert captaincy;
We need your soothing touch and balm;
And take our ship to waters calm.

Hope this could happen in your time;
Hope we can see a happy clime;
Hope we can get out of this slime;
Hope you will turn our hero prime!

We trust in your wise leadership;
We need your expert guidance please;
We know not what the future holds;
The road we'd travelled seems to end!

We are amidst troubles galore;
We need your balm to heal our wounds;
We do not have a direction;
Our future at cross-roads now lies!

Like rudderless a ship on sea,
Swaying in storms and high-speed winds,
Driven helter-skelter afree:
God only knows how things turn up!

The future's gloomy uncertain;
We want prolonged stability;
And masters who care for welfare;
May all this happen in your time!

May we see Halcyon days ahead!
May we regain our chartered course!
May we reach shores we ought to reach,
In God's pre-destined way and time!

dedicated to our new Principal Secretary
