I am a 🐢born yesterday,
Just out of the shell ready to play,
With hundreds of mates in a confined tray -
Annoyingly cranky, making gay.
I touched a softest of hands,
Quite certainly she wore a pretty band,
I tried to escape her caressing grip,
Soon was useless fighting this trip.
An evening sunset, my first encounter with nature -
On a golden beach I felt like a living creature.
So perfect, I stood perplexed -
Awaiting the uncertainty that befell next.
Crawling on the beach towards the ocean,
I am ready - but my feet lost all motion.
Twice I fought the mighty wave,
Third time I knew I'd cave.
A gigantic 🌊 swept me off to a foreign place,
Now I'm on my own with no familiar face,
I keep swimming like it's just another day,
What do I know I was just born yesterday.
