A Talk With Darkness Poem by Brigitte Tasher

A Talk With Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Darkness, darkness... my old friend,
I've come to talk to you again.

Sit besides and listen closely,
I have to tell you something wise.
Did you think that I was longing
for your empty and unwanted time?

You, Darkness, are the one compelling them,
but what compells you? Do you know, my dear?

You know no fear at all,
you know no nightmares.
You don't know what it's like to fall
into the abyss of failure.

You, Darkness, should suffer,
you should taste your own poison!
Yet...there is something even rougher
than your words, and it isn't wholesome.

Imagine if you felt fear,
imagine if you hurt inside,
what would you do then, my dear?
Just scream and run away like them?

You cannot run from who you are,
remember this, my friend.
You compel yourself, we are
the ones who watch you burn.

You cause their pain and sadness,
did you know this, dear friend?
In their hearts and souls, you, Darkness,
send them all to a dead end.

You've always been a part of them,
that they can hardly change.
Still, you're slowly changing them,
changing, growing from inside.

Sinful saints, this is what they turn into,
no matter how hard they try to escape.
Darkness, you rule their precious freedom,
I will stand out, make you fade.

I will no longer run away,
I will save them from decay.

You should fear me, my old friend,
I am the Light. This is the end.

I will show them the way out,
you will no longer chase them now.

Darkness, Darkness...my new enemy,
you rule nothing, you're just a wannabe.
Darkness, Darkness, leave us alone,
you do not belong here anymore.
