A Talk With My Dream Poem by Amit Mathur

A Talk With My Dream

yesterday i was talking to my dream
and he told me you don't dream me anymore
i went aghast and said you are the one who left me
i am bruised here alone and you left me stranded
they told me you have company of sanity and rationality
these things eat and bleed us-choke our lives out of us
then i wondered how can i seek my own self
when i was complete with him and can be my own
i said it has been years since i have met you
there is bound to be some resentment between us
ok forget all slights grace me again with your company
and they murmured we live within you discreetly and covertly
you need to tear the wall between us and then smell us
we will be with you in your voice and your breath
and in your charm and in your grace
don't stare at us just keep walking
but do remember to stop and smell us
