A Teacher's Light Poem by Natasa To

A Teacher's Light

Before the halls of marble gleamed,
Before the banners proudly streamed,
She stood where eager minds would grow,
Planting seeds the young would sow.

With patient words and steady grace,
She found potential in each face.
A lesson shared, a hopeful spark,
A guiding light against the dark.

Through years of change and history's tide,
She walked with purpose, side by side.
As First Lady, calm and true,
She brought compassion into view.

She spoke for families, hope, and care,
Reminding all that hearts can share.
Yet still she kept the classroom near,
A voice that students came to hear.

For service wears no single crown,
Nor lives in grand acclaim alone.
It grows in kindness, day by day,
In every life we help along the way.

So may her story gently show
How quiet acts can brightly glow—
That teaching minds and lifting hearts
Is where enduring change can start.
