If sorrowing was gone forever and eyes had joys full,
How tranquilly one would have his feelings rule
The life of his in his utter form
With no blinker of pain and hailstorm!
If the uneven side of human mind
Would have sought balanced view,
And heart's soft touch instinct two,
There would have been a single consonance
Of our chorus,
And the world would not have fallen
Into extreme loss, in the shadow of hostilities
Now and then, bringing distress and pain.
If colors of life were all felt good
And one and all were as constant as the Northern Stars
And deeds were ever fair and above board
And all creatures were born pure like the Stars.
If the jealousy of honor thought would
Have got held of fertile seeds
In the barren heart of human beings
Where would we have lost those deeds
That without reproach each heart ever sings;
Where would one have fallen in the booby trap of uneasy exit,
And where would one have heard
The songs of hatred and pain,
If hearts were excelling, superlative and ten!
