A Tent Did Not Suffice Poem by delilah contrapunctal.... yes, that's how I intended to spell it.........

A Tent Did Not Suffice

in winter
a cold wind
chased him and his dogs
into the cenotaph
where pillars reached for sky
ceilings told of glories
the marble floor of this
shelter was hard
as they lay on it
singing them
a shiver-inducing
welcome
welcome, warm about the edges
