A Thousand Days Poem by Ketki Athavale

A Thousand Days

A thousand days
I'd wait for you
But time stands still
When I think of you

A thousand rivers
I'd cross for you
But my ship has sunk
In your ocean blue

A thousand dreams
I'd weave for us
But this estranged world
Is a dream of you

A thousand things
I'd like to say to you
But words are lost
A game they play

A thousand stories
I'd like to tell
But like you and me
They'll fade away
