A Thousand Pieces Poem by H Seeking

A Thousand Pieces

Does she love me or am I just prey
For yet another of her countless surveys?
Is this just a probe
In love cleverly enrobed?

Maybe we both know and pretend
We don't want this moment to end
My heart cannot take it being rend
Is this the beginning of a moment God send?

Perhaps my cruel tormentor
Is being tormented herself
Her mind is now forever
Just as deeply entwined in myself?

Perhaps I am the only fool
Being watched and beguiled
For all the reasons uncool
And silly me being senile

Does she laugh with her friends
And wait to see how it ends?
Don't play this game that sends
Mixed messages and the mind unbends

Every voice I hear is you
Every face I see untrue
Until our talks renew
I wait feeling so blue

This love is so doomed
Can patience see it bloom?
Or is it just me over the moon
While you aim the harpoon?
