A Thousand Spears Poem by Daniele Cerasoli

A Thousand Spears

My heart hurts
I just want to tear it out
To spare myself the deep pain
Cause by this arid drought
In my one moment of doubt.

Only you can stop this
Only you can dry my tears
And spare me from the
Pain of a thousand spears
And lift the mask of all my worst fears.

I miss you
And we've only been apart for a day
Though it feels like an eternity
Coloured in a deep, endless gray
Where I have nothing left to say.

I wish you would talk
Talk to me and don't ever quit
Never stop reading the story of us
Because even the darkness will be lit
And we'll rise out of this yawning pit.
