The mother and father cry today
And night brings worse. Beating
The pain of life cannot be stopped
And the child hides
Hides behind his only secure, the blanket
The crib shakes and stars fade
Then the door opens and closes
Everyone and everything is there
Everyone. Anyone imagined.
The animals can gather
The priests and poets would praise
And actions, verbs, are endless
Sex, or laughing; living here is enough
And the best is yet to come
The euphoria, truthful feelings
But it’s not imagination, rather heart
And mother and father yell and fight
But the “life” carries him through the day.
