A Time Since Gone Poem by Toni R. Jones

A Time Since Gone

When we're all along and I take you back,
along those dusty railroad tracks.
To where it all began for you and me,
I know our love was meant to be.
As I took your hand and we walked down that road,
I knew I wanted to take you home.
Darlin' please don't be blue—
our life is not yet through.
Just a short span of time apart—
For you're never out of my heart.
Some day when God allows,
I don't know when or how.
We'll be once more along those tracks
and I will take you back.
In my arms you will stay forever and always.
I love you and always will.
