Falling Star Poem by Toni R. Jones

Falling Star

Rating: 2.0

Falling star—crossing the sky tonight,
Rushing by as if you could hear it's cry.
A rush of splendor as if to say, I am here for just a day.
Wish on me and all you'll see, for God is the one to set you free.
Tonight I wished upon a falling star, to show me just where you are,
No more tears should I shed, for my darling, has gone to bed.
To sleep in deep perfect slumber, the days of loneliness are just a number.
Soon I'll awake as if to say, here you are and here you'll stay.
God be with us one and all, for I'll see my darling in the fall.
"Last night I saw a falling star."
