Her love is like the sky,
Stretching to the unknown.
When she hugs you and holds you tight,
protection and warmth is what you feel.
God sat everything up in stone,
and wrote you in my life.
You are the one who would go the extra miles,
just to see us smile.
You pick me up when I am down,
you listen and keep true to your word.
You lift your soft hand,
and place it on my shoulder.
You tell me everything will be alright,
and no matter how stubborn I am I know your right.
With every smile you sent my way,
you have always managed to brighten my day.
From you I have learned many life long values,
and will follow them along the way.
A mothers love is needed at all times.
She will always understand your tears,
and she will calm all of our fears.
You were there for my first steps, words, and love.
And guided me along the way.
No matter where I go in life,
I know I can always come back to you and feel at home.
You were the one who tucked me in everynight,
you held me through the nightmares and storms.
I conquered my fears because of you,
you taught courage along the road.
This road we travel on,
grows shorter with each step.
I will one day move on with my life,
but you will always be the one I go to.
I'll look forward to seeing you,
after just a day away.
