A Tough Love Poem by Nadya Andyani

A Tough Love

Love was something i never asked for
I think love is a burden to liberty
A thing that chained my feet to the ground
But you came and offer me something i never had, a tough love
Tempting, yet challenging and risky
I saw you were armed and armoured
Your eyes speak for hatred and anger
A dark knight kneeled down and asked for a hand
Through confusion i steped in to something new
My body shivers as i came to your arms
I felt a strange sensation through my bloodstream
Stings, yet pleasant
You held me really close,
So close that i could saw through your heart
I was mesmerised,
A man fully armoured with a heart made of gold
I saw countless scars on your metal
Wondering what's beneath the old steel
Then I took off your armour as we made love
Your soul was exposed, fully naked, baringtruths for only me to see
Vulnerable, honest and soft
My heart rained with tears
The world has treated you unfair
No wonder why your eyes were so fierce
By the moment i saw the truest truth of you
I could felt my heart beats for love
Embracing my intuition to protect, to heal and to guide
I convienced you to let your armour goes to waste
It's okay to be fully naked with me, Vulnerability is truth
And in world like this where everyone wears a mask, it's a privilage to see a soul
