A Tribute To Dolly Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

A Tribute To Dolly

In Smoky Mountain air, a cabin small,
Twelve children lived, through rise and fall.
A Tennessee girl, with spirit bright,
Found music's song, her guiding light.

From humble roots, her voice took flight,
Through Appalachian tunes, and hymns of might.
She sang of love, and loss, and dreams,
A tapestry woven, it always seems.

Her melodies soared, on radios wide,
A country star, with naught to hide.
A songwriter's heart, her stories told,
More precious than silver, more rare than gold.

Then magic bloomed, in her own dear land,
A park of wonder, built by her hand.
Dollywood's gates, for all to share,
A place of joy, beyond compare.

But deeper still, her heart's true plea,
To fill young minds, wild and free.
The Imagination Library, a gift so grand,
Sending books of wonder, across the land.

Millions of stories, a seed well sown,
For every child, a world to own.
She gave with love, a generous soul,
Making broken pieces, truly whole.

August twenty-fifth, two thousand twenty-six,
The world paused for a moment, as memory clicks.
A national treasure, forever known,
Her spirit lives on, in hearts it's grown.
