A Type Of Death Poem by Emily Wallace

A Type Of Death

True love lost
Is like a type of death.
Once it is gone, it is gone
And can never be held again.
For a time,
You had it in your grasp.
Yet somehow, somehow...
It slipped...
Falling like sand
Through your fingers,
And blowing thoughtfully,
Away with the wind.
So complete was your heart,
So filled with peace,
When true love had you.
Now stripped away
Of all the good in life.
Nothing to live for.
No one to love.
Surrounded by darkness
And a despair that...
Feels like death.
