A Universe Of Strangers Poem by Doris Cornago

A Universe Of Strangers

Rating: 5.0

Longer the hours you're missed
Shorter my breaths came
Faltering like in a
Swan dance
There's
None
Sadder
Than to be
Alone in a universe
Of strangers, talking nonsense

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We may be in a beautiful relationship but without constant communication, one can feel so sad being alone, without the loved one. It's not only the physical closeness we need from the loved one but the mental fullness is essential for us to thrive under stressful circumstances. We need someone to talk with us patiently and help us process details in our life, events, people, and conflicts. Only another soul who cares for us will give us the conversation we need.

Very thoughtful poem reflecting the pain of being thrown into the abyss of loneliness- no one to listen, no one to talk, no one to understand and care. Thanks.

The wooden statue in the photo depicts my exact feeling when my loved is busy and unreachable. I feel like a derelict, old, dried up, my heart breaking into a thousand pieces. The agony in her face mirrors the pain of being lonely.

Oh! This is so emotional and touching. How strange! We plan and execute our ideas for a life full of happiness with all sincerity but what we get. A life as if it were a punishment. One thing I would like to add that at one time or the other, we all come across such upheavals in life. So, be bold. This will pass over. Thanks, Doris.
