A View From A Mill Poem by andrew wynne

A View From A Mill

A droning beetle glides in mazy rings,
Grey snakes that slither round a sunken tree
Whereon a blackbird sings her silvr'y airs
To swathes of daisies dancing in the fields,
And then a willow weeps and bluebells wave
At milkmaids humming songs their lovers gave,
A curlew calls from misty moorland wealds,
Where grizzled yews mull time and ancient cares,
A cricket chirps a chorus cross the lea
And summer showers dance on glassy wings.
