A Vote Poem by Randy McClave

A vote is not a valentine
That is given as a gift with a glass of wine,
That you give to your love on that special day
Along with a bouquet.
A vote is not a, 'I love you', note
Or a love poem for you to quote,
That you give to the person that you truly love
The person sent to you by God above.
A vote is not a love letter sent
To tell how your heart truly does represent,
You don't ever send that to a stranger
Your feelings would be in danger.
You're not professing your love to a candidate
As a lover who you chose to be your forever mate,
It's not a tic tac toe game you play to win
A vote is a chess move, for the world you want to live in.
