A Walk In The Wild Poem by Jananie Balaji

A Walk In The Wild

Crimson bright shines the morning sun,
The Safari at Johannesburg unfolds wide
Here begins the kernel of adventure and fun!
We scream with excitement, all set for the ride!

As she introduces us to the zebras and giraffes,
I slow jog close to our guard and guide
A funny rendezvous and a good many snaps,
Oh! I've made friends with the African Wild!

After a peekaboo with the meerkats and chimpanzees,
We wave at the bisons yonder!
Oh! An adder brushes past me carelessly,
As we watch the beasts aimlessly meander!

The rhinos enjoy their morning mud spa
While it's breakfast time for His Majesty!
Like the surreal, sentient arc of Noah,
The Hyenas cheer the lion with glee!

After the elephant's regency, we head southwest,
And unpack for lunch with our guests -the hares
While the Koala, awoken from his cosy branch nest
Joins us, demanding his rightful share!

Nature cradles all her children, ever kindling appal,
Protecting species after species, through the extreme and mild!
A Safari, like the life of a Neanderthal,
An experience of a lifetime- A Walk in the Wild!
