A Way To Search For The Answer Poem by Jyniqua Bentford

A Way To Search For The Answer

Overpowered by the troubles of my life, the only way out is a knife.
A blade to my skin and a deep cut left behind,
Searching through the blood I hope to find a sign.
I tried to open up and let the world see what I see,
But it just cut me deeper and watched me bleed.
I have only one friend that comes close to feeling what I do.
But they try to pull us apart and relive us from our glue.
So again I put the knife to my skin.
And search through the blood for an answer within.
But the bleeding stop and I have no answer for what I seek
I run to the closet and myself I beat.
When the knife no longer plays a tool in what I’m looking for,
I shoot myself in the head and dropp lifeless to the floor.
