A Weight Of Tears Poem by Geoff Lathy

A Weight Of Tears

There lies a weight
Of tears
Behind my eyes
I cannot cry.
There lies a weight
Of years
Behind my sighs,
I dare not die.
Behind my tears,
A weight of fears,
Behind my sighs,
A weight of lies,
A weight of sand
Held in my hand
That trickles gently
To the floor.
