A Welcome Sprig Of Hope [death] Poem by alan brown

A Welcome Sprig Of Hope [death]

Sometimes I think of the visions of my past
and dream throughout the day
But The day that I remember so well
Was the day you went away.

It was not hard for you to forget
the times we spent so well
So why you had to leave me
only time will really tell.

I lie here on the meadow grass
with the sun high in the sky
Still dreaming of the life we had
thinking why me, yes why.

I speak the words that you taught me
That summer in Nepal
And the memories of your beauty
linger on in my minds eye.

The coffin was a small one
I often wounder why.
A life like yours so precious
why did you have to die.

You have left me now forever
I know this to be true
But a welcome sprig of hope appears
with the falling of the morning Dew
