A Whisper In Silence Poem by Lucy Hawker

A Whisper In Silence

Lie to tell, shaken hand,
Can nobody else understand?
Silent cry, hidden tears,
Has freedom given in to fear?
Lost words, inside pain,
Can wrong take right for a fool again?
Seconds gone, ticking by,
You know they'll never tell us why.
Too much love, forbidden care,
Yesterday's song is lost somewhere.
Why so difficult for them to see?
As you cry, they're scaring me.
Never's reason hurting you,
Connecting pain, it finds me too.
Working with hope, day and night,
In a time of pain, when it's not right.
Sorrow found in every word,
Yesterday's gone, song unheard.
