A Wish Poem by Anas Khan

A Wish

I wish to pen a poem with soul,
One that speaks of our love as a whole,
A verse in which your hair's fragrance is bound,
And one that sings with the tinkle of your anklets' sound.

The poem's punctuation like the sun's wings unfurled,
A pride-shattering verse that will shake your world,
With forgotten promises and new paths to chart,
A poem that beats with the rhythm of your heart.

A verse that etches your memories deep,
One that lulls your sorrows to sleep,
A poem that wraps you in a cozy embrace,
And brings a smile to your face.

A poem that guides you to my home,
A poem that serves as our chariot to roam,
A verse that shelters you from scorching heat and sun,
And lights your path when day is done.

A poem where each word embraces only you,
Your essence the map, your soul the land it's due,
A verse that is your heart and you are its brand,
A poem that is your art, and you are its grand.

My heart overflows with words I can't contain,
A love so deep, it's hard to explain.
So I pick up my pen and let the ink spill,
Not to be a poet, but to express love with skill.
