A Wishful Dream Of Candy's And Steel Poem by Sharron Stephenson

A Wishful Dream Of Candy's And Steel

to read a mind to lip to lip to cross a
soul
to body a heart to borrow a wink to lose
the fight

a diamond star in the look of a eye
wrapped in a cuddle of candy shells
to steal a kiss to win the war

to walk the aveune
to rock the sidewalk

my guard my steel
the iron gate
wind and rain

the cradle
the cry
from child
to mother
open eyes to find all a dream
my wish will never
come true
