A Word To The Lord Poem by Johanna Dubensky

A Word To The Lord

In the twilight of the evening,
I see your beautiful face,
The strength of your garment enfolds me,
The depth of your eyes enter my soul.

My heart whispers -- How Great Thou Art
The loved ones in the garden of night,
Are asking with love in their heart,
Stay near, O Lord of might - lend me again my angel of Mercy
Listen to my cry for help in the pain of my bosom.
Thy nearness sustains me - you are near.
My light of life rests in your hands.
My heart and soul have offered it all.

None have taken me over, graciously, I have not seen defeat,
You will see me in the shadows
My voice will sound in the wind and whispering
in the leaves of the trees.
As you walk I will be in the early morning fog
The sound of the trumpet, the voice of the angels,
For ever peace and love for all.
