A World Where... Poem by Melissa Koeman

A World Where...

Rating: 5.0

I was standing on the street
I saw all those people walking by
Some of them out to buy something
Others rushing of to their work
Suddenly I just didn’t get it anymore
Why? Is that all there is?
Buying ourselves happy, working, making as much money as we can?
We’ve got everything we need
What else do we need?
But people always want more
More, bigger and faster
Apathy has taken us over
Nobody seems to care anymore
It’s just a mad world
Do I want to be a part of this world?
A world where people die of hunger
and in the meanwhile we have all the food there is?
A world where forests and all off mother natures creations are cut or shot down?
A world where….
I could go on for ages but I won’t
Because it’s no use
I can’t change the world… but I can try to make a difference!
