A World Within A World Poem by Abdul Wahab

A World Within A World

A WORLD WITHIN A WORLD
A world within a world
Both are virtually real
In between them is only a high wall
Sometimes blue, sometimes white
Though it is straight yet it has a beautiful curve
From far, it is truly transparent
Closer, it gets opaque
So, to see through one is needed some holes
Round for some triangular for few
What is seen in the morning?
Is there any difference in the afternoon?
They are all the same all the time
The naked and ugly dance
But where are the monkeys or squirrels?
Neither are seen the shadows
Is there any mistake?
Or an illusion has crept in?
I shake my leg instead of my head
Immediately felt I am all right
They are nothing but my obstacles
Pot holes in the way I tread
I keep looking but hear a sound
Sweeping, hissing or something like silent blowing
But I do not see any leaf to move
So, I am sure that this is not the sound of a wind
I twitch my ear and get all the attention of my mind
Soon I realise I am in conversation with my weakness
Courageous I become seeing upon hope
On the golden wings of rays
Crystal clear I see now my goal in the waves of an echo
Beckoning me to the place where I need to reach
Points to score, height to touch
Delighted I feel and a sensation I get
Yet I fear
The river of resistance may come into my way
I jump and hear a voice
The voice of my will
And that tells me to make all efforts to take my first step
Light, camera and action for films
But here is only few blooming words
And I get the flower of my success.
