A Wounded Flower - Poem by shubham shekhar

A wounded flower is fighting to bloom
wind passes him by without touching
sun is absent in the sky but
his will grows as he holds his heart
he shakes his petals
to check if he is still alive
he looks at the barren land
he looks at the dark sky
he now closes his eyes
colours slowly leave his body
destiny is near he thinks
he remembers all the good times he had
dancing smiling in the sunlight
playing with butterflies and bees
now they are gone
and he is left bruised
he condemns no one
he enjoyed loving everything
and in his last breath too
his heart will be full of love,
he thinks.
