A question this morning—
when you write, you are a writer.
It may be a very ordinary piece,
still you are a writer.
Your writing may not be read by anybody,
still you are a writer.
So, having been a writer,
you run the risk of antagonizing people.
As a writer, you must be honest;
honesty, however, leads to conflict.
A writer has to write still—
by remaining still, or steel.
A writer has got nothing but his desk,
his pen, papers, a laptop, an iPad—
his task is clearly cut out:
he will express his mind,
he has to go on writing.
Do not ask him how he feels;
allow him to feel the pain—
that's how he writes,
stuff that hardly anyone reads.
Then he is criticized.
Steadfast as he is, he writes.
A writer just writes.
