Abandoned Heart Poem by Kaitlin Schmidt

Abandoned Heart

Is there a possible way to cope?
My abandoned heart only unfolds
The secrets of my mind never fail to end
Taking me back time and time again
Awaiting the restoration of a new day
Releasing and defining the insanity
The here and now but just a thought
As if in existence but time forgot
Weeds of love instantaneous nothings
Hold me back from greatness, that one thing
Twinkling darkness all in one
It's like the daybreak with out the sun
Forces like magnets attract, repel
Dive on into that empty wishing well
Dreams extend but nothing more
Like walking into a clear closed door
Saved for a moment then memories fade
Open my eyes and the world isn't changed
Emptiness all but a distant friend
Colors of light begin to blend
Saving myself from the danger inside
Scoping to see where everything hides
Again and again my hand is out stretched
No one grabs a hold, I am by myself
Like shattered glass there my heart lies
Painful beating until it dies
Today disappears but yesterday comes
The fight is over but no one has won
The rain falls up, then back down
This is how I live, with out making a sound

This one is fantastic! The words are simple yet deep the emotions that touched me. As if this poem was written for specially for me. Thanks a lot, Kaitlin and go on to give the reader the insight for reflections. I just love to read it again and again. Virginia
