About My Concealed Feelings In Words Poem by RIC BASTASA

About My Concealed Feelings In Words

there is something
i like about
words

they conceal the
secret of my
love for you

you who never love
me you who never expect
that i can
love you

i draw birds on the air
and you listen
they hover on your hair
and you glisten

i put stars on my tongue
and they twinkle
and you are amazed by
the light that
i emit

you never notice how huge
love can be
as huge as a cruise ship
beside a port
where passengers embark
without you spotting
me in red.

love it...the red reminds me of the little girl wearing a red dress of the movie the schindler's list, oblivious of her surroundings
