About You Poem by Squizzle Jellyfish

About You

You can't seem to abandon my thoughts;
Even after many halfhearted attempts to chase you away.
Now... I've decided I don't want you to leave.

I can't help but think about you.
-Ha- Can you blame me?

I suppose I have only myself to blame
For all of the dreams.

I wonder what it would be like to have you
Hold me close
So I might listen to your ever-beating heart...
Portal to your soul.

The curiosity-
So much like a flame-
Rises up and consumes my hopes and dreams
With its ravenous hunger.

Perhaps not unquenchable.
There seems to be a way around it,
But... will it work?

Could I ever go back?

Or would the fire return-
Stronger and hungrier than ever?

Would a mere kiss
Taunt such an infinite flame?

A solution must be found.
