Absence Of Roses Poem by Laura Russell

Absence Of Roses

[I sit down and remind myself of you]

The roses on the heater smell delicious
But their colour is not as obvious,
I could say red or pink but that wouldn't be right;
Slightly brighter than the walls but not as dull,
Not quite the colour of a loveheart
nor a lover's heart
More like a scream or silent laugh.
The stems are green as you would expect
And the petals gleam like my eyes
But you wouldn't know that;
You don't see them sparkle, just blue.

[I stand up and remind myself to forget you]

Ha, ha, I finally got the real meaning upon the whole piece, which is a great piece with your feeling by nose and eyes upon the rose smell and colour represent your feeling of happiness and sadness.. Well done, keep on writing.
