' Absolutely! Positively! ' That's what he liked to say,
And when he said it with such glee, he'd always get his way!
He would say his upbeat catchphrase when questions would arise,
Sometimes he'd lie there to your face, and catch you by surprise!
He was a ladies' man and yet so difficult to trust,
He left some ladies with regret and sad tears of disgust.
Despite his dreams of what could be if only he had tried,
Each time he brought them misery, he scarpered off to hide!
' You promise us, you'll keep your word! ' and quickly he agreed,
And so the lines of truth got blurred each time he was in need.
A desperate conman, without doubt, yet with a heart of gold,
And even when all things worked out, oh, my, what lies he told!
If only he could tell the truth, he'd never need to boast,
But he was wily from his youth, destined to lie the most.
He'd flirt and flatter, then he'd brag about what he could do,
It's true, he was a scallywag, a scamp and scoundrel, too.
Thank God, he chose to mend his ways, thank God, how he turned out,
Thank God, I say, let's give God praise, as that's what life's about.
Let's be the best that we can be, in each thought, word, and deed,
Knowing the truth can set us free and help us to succeed!

There was this guy in the Baywatch TV series who found it hard to tell the truth! He sometimes turned to the lifeguards, pleading for them to help him when he got himself into trouble. I remember his catchphrase, ' Absolutely! Positively! ' because it was just another way to reinforce a lie. He was a charmer who convinced others to tell lies to keep his lies going. So many American comedy shows have followed this type of story, with one lie leading to another. So don't be surprised if they've influenced millions of avid viewers for decades!
