Abuse Poem by Brandon M. Moore

Abuse

Rating: 5.0

She loves him so much that she allows him to paint,
not on woven canvas, but on her own flesh.
Although his colors are limited, he is an artist.
She inspires the muse inside his heart.

However his heart is cold and unforgiving,
the black poisoned thing lies below his rib caged prison,
plotting an alcohol induced escape.
Alcohol inspires the muse inside his heart.

The pictures he paints upon her canvas of skin,
black, red, yellow, and grey collages.
It is unfortunate to have such an artist,
create these works without appreciation.

The neighbors hear the strokes,
in clear detail as the brush touches canvas.
They watch his painting come and go,
a new pattern is being added every day,

Finally completely covered in color,
she picked up her brush and pallet.
Before he could finish painting,
she signed for him,
A.9mm inspired the muse inside her heart.
