Abuse Of Power And Role Reversal Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Abuse Of Power And Role Reversal

Rating: 5.0

Two fifty years, a nation's dream,
A special land, or so it seemed.
But now a whisper, soft and low,
Perhaps this grand plan will not grow.

A leader speaks of taking lands,
With forceful words and waving hands.
Venezuela's grip, a Greenland's plea,
But strength abroad? We cannot see.

The Middle East, a tangled thread,
Where peace is lost, and wars are spread.
And Ukraine's cries, a distant sound,
On shaky ground, we can be found.

Old friends now drift, a cooling breeze,
While China rises, with great ease.
A different power, strong and new,
With many watching, seeing through.

We learn from this, the lessons taught,
What's truly strong, what's dearly bought.
To mend our ways, and find our light,
Before the fading of the night.
