Accept Me As I Am Poem by Francis Duggan

Accept Me As I Am

Rating: 4.2

If you cannot accept me the way I am
Then kick me out your life and tell me scram
As you can't reshape the branch of full grown tree
So take me as I stand or let me be.

I know in my own way I do act strange
But I am way beyond the years for change
So accept me as I am or bolt that door
And shut me out your life forever more.

You say I'm distant when your friends are about
But there's a time for speech and for shut mouth
And I should have thought that you already knew
That never speak until you are spoken to.

And though I do confess I love you true
I'll not be changing not even for you
I could not change my personality
By doing so I could fool no one but me.

I cannot alter my mentality
So accept me as I am or set me free
I could not live a lie or be a fake
So I cannot change not even for your sake.

Accept me for what I am the one you know
Or either set me loose and let me go
As it's not my fault I am the way I am
For after all I'm just a common man.
