Acceptance Poem by Tony Kemp

Acceptance

Rating: 4.8

You take my trees and call them leaves
and all the time they’re me.
You take my flowers and call them buds,
but you can never see.

You take my autumn, call it spring,
then wait for me to say
that thought the river trickles on,
it’s not going our way.

You see me smile then say I’m sad,
though all the time I’m not.
You see my tears and call me glad.
How can I prove I’m not?

You take my life and call it past,
then wonder at my death.
You take my love and call it hate,
despising what is left.

You take my words and turn them round
and then I wonder why
you don’t accept me as I am.
Perhaps the fault is mine.

No Tony it is not your fault. It is the fault of the ones that refuse to accept anyone who doesn't fit in their little neat square box. This is a very emotional an poignant write right from the heart. It gives the reader something to actually thing about. Everybody should accept others for who they are as they are, regardless of circumstances. A 10+++++ and thank you for sharing this wise message. Love & hugs, Barbara
