Accompany Me Poem by Gloria Poulami Singh

Accompany Me

When I am embraced by the dark solitude,

When I feel that for my soul there is a scarcity of water and food

I thus run to you my lord, most great and divine.

You are the light of the world that never fades but shines.

When I am made to feel that I am worthless,

When I am subdued subservient and speechless,

You my father are my king,

You have always evicted me from that stress

And have helped me to come out of my ugliest mess.

When misbehaviors, misconducts arrive deceitfully

My Lord, you are the one who has never stopped loving me truly.

Even when my dearest ones gave up on me

I got down on my knees and wept and cried and prayed

And you never left me but instead had stayed.

Father, I love thee for you have adored me like no one else,

Even if I have received love from few who on this earth still dwells.

I was worried, timid, petrified, unloved, and betrayed

Father, Almighty, at every time you have always ensured that I am saved.

O, Father, I plead you to set me free,

Be with me, stay with me and accompany me.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is a realization that the almighty is the most best one can ever have. Even in this misanthropist heaven when human beings hurt each other, the almighty is always there to save us at any circumstances and at all times.
