Waiting …
to wake up to a dawn
that will bring me my own,
so far, across the waters;
gone for a bunch of dreams
all alone, in His shadow yet.
Why you still hold on?
Won’t you rest a bit?
Or let out a cry?
Life have you ever known?
Its colors have you ever seen?
Three faces always fill,
the parchment of your days;
you paint it with love
and dreams and vow
happy days of togetherness.
Yet the dawn forgets you
though the night shelters you,
to bring you home
ceasing this roam.
With a heart sinking
I raise my eyes to thee
whisper a prayer to see-
my daddy,
who lives for me
across the waters…
