Act The Way You Do? Poem by Denice Woods

Act The Way You Do?

Rating: 5.0

I wish you saw me
The way I see you
Then perhaps
You wouldn't act the way you do.
You want the world at your fingertips
And I try to oblige
My efforts are never enough
And each time
A piece of my soul dies
You have taken my dignity
And burned it to the ground
My self esteem was musical
And you have muffled the sound
Why can't you just want ME?
The way I want YOU?
Then perhaps you wouldn't act the way you do.

An excellent poem that describes the disharmony in the relationship.10/10. Why can't you just want ME? The way I want YOU? Then perhaps you wouldn't act the way you do. Perhaps! The other side may have a story to tell, too!
