Adasi Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Adasi

Adasi

Boil in pot
-thousands of
-lentils as do in mind
-rambling, boiling thoughts.

In times I sit idle
-in times am, on the run
-in times caged by force and
-in times risk whatever is around.

It is in nineteen and seven past the eighty
-when you are, not yet born;
-breathe in mum's tummy.

I have come to pave road for us to rejoin and
-open Co. in US
-to support my other Companies
-in Dubai, everywhere.

Rent a car and drive
-Toronto, Chicago in no time
-faster than could fly!

A tree is lighted
-mom and your siblings
-are gathered.

All of us celebrate…

We have hopes
-have plans
-to take some agencies
-and expand everything.

I have set Partner in Dubai
-to be there's president.

A call comes and breaks bad news
-the police set blame on the same partner
-for the things that have been stolen
-I am hooked and decide to return.

My hope is to rejoin…

Christmas, New Year
-then-after comes your birth
-in rare day,
-twenty-six, of Feb; Eighty-Eight.

Years go by
-to join you, I try
-and try and try
-no success.

You, still in pampers
-we meet, get united
-in Hvar we stay for a time
-then drive all around
-visit then Yugoslav.

And settle in Dubai
-life is well for some years.

Your only brother turns eighteen
-cannot be dependent and must be
-having a work-visa…

"My son and a labour?
-No, never! "

I say and rearrange:
- "We must leave this devil! "
-You call it whatever…
-Dubai? ? ? Hell? "

I start but fact is
-it is not just me and all alone
-progress takes much time
-in the midst, some go wrong.

You end in Canada
-I suffer injustice
-behind bars in Iran!
-Now, all boil in my mind.
