Addicted Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Addicted

Am I addicted when I cannot get
Enough of you, although there passes not
A second when my feelings freely let:
To let you know about my haunted thought?
Am I addicted if but every time
I see your face, as if a starving leech,
I cling yet fiercely, since a need sublime:
Knows not—and never will—the steps to reach?
I'm not addicted as I'm well aware:
If I but was addicted when away,
And breathing not the same love-stricken air;
Oh, nay, I barely make it through the day!
I guess for long addicted I yet knew:
'Cause can't without my daily dose of you!
