I love you
like I do the night sky
for all its celestial beauty

No more would I ask the stars to love me back
than I would expect reciprocation
for how I feel about you

I love you not because you love me
and would not love you less
if you told me you hated me

You will always be the diamonds in your crown
the smiles captured in photographs
I keep of you in my drawer

Your light will always shine in my world
no matter where you are
or how you feel about me
